I have had a long career in education in Scotland. Initially, I worked as a classroom primary teacher in Glasgow and Edinburgh before becoming Assistant Head/ Acting Headteacher of a large primary school in East Lothian. I then moved into Teacher Education becoming latterly, a senior university lecturer in Education and also course leader of the BEd (hons) primary education degree course. In recent years, following early retirement for family health reasons, I have worked as a supply teacher for Glasgow City Council in both mainstream primary and ASN sectors. I am also an experienced personal tutor currently tutoring in Mathematics to upper primary/ lower secondary aged children both face to face and online via Skype and Zoom. I am fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and hold also a current PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Certificate issued by Disclosure Scotland

Mrs Emma B

Qualified experienced primary teacher currently with a mixed Year 5/6 class. I have taught across the primary curriculum and across key stages and am head of Science. I have worked in every year group, although my main experience is in Key Stage 2, particularly in teaching Year 6 and helping pupils achieve their potential in their SATs. Particular strengths include teaching grammar and mathematics, and teaching concepts in different ways.
