Mrs Sarah C

I am a qualified English teacher with significant experience in preparing children for 11+ and 13+ exams. I have taught in both the state and independent sectors and have been an exam marker for KS2 SATs and GCSE English Lit and Lang. I have additional qualifications in literary difficulties and have undertaken extensive training in supporting children with creative writing. I am currently working with an editor and my first middle grade book is out on submission. I am passionate about reading and enthusing children, particularly reluctant readers. Lessons are tailored to a children’s individual needs and I work hard to establish a supportive and nurturing relationship with a tutee.

Currently a Science teacher at Liverpool Life Sciences UTC. I have a proven track record at GCSE, achieving positive progress 8 data. I have seven years successful experience of teaching GCSE from several boards to pupils of all abilities including AQA Synergy (Trilogy content) and Edexcel and OCR Triple Science. I spent 3 years as Lead Teacher for Science for the Tutorial Program at Akeley Wood School, specialising in pupils with SEN so have lots of experience with pupils with SEN. I presently lead scientific literacy for Liverpool Life Sciences and specialise in the correct use of keywords and English in order to give the answers the examiner wants. I am also experienced in stretching high ability students aiming for the very best grades. My classroom is a safe space where students are happy to express themselves and to question until they understand.

Miss Fiona W

I am an experienced primary school teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. I have taught throughout the primary phase. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis, groups and full classes. This has also included online tuition via Zoom and Microsoft Teams alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I can support any primary school students and coach children for the 11 plus exam. I can also help children who are behind expectations in high school and support them to catch up. My excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor particularly within the core subjects of English and maths.
