Miss Jill R

I am a fully qualified and highly experienced teacher of A-Level and GCSE Biology. Throughout my career I have also taught GCSE Science and Physics in the UK and IGCSE and CIE A-Level Biology whilst overseas. After 13 years teaching Y7 - Y13 students, in 2015 I took a post teaching A level in a post-16 college. This has given the opportunity for me to really focus on the skills required to be successful at A level, focusing on the required practical and mathematical element, as well as exam technique. I have recently undertaken further training at the National STEM Centre in York covering "Maths for A level Biology" and "effective delivery of practical skills at A level", alongside completing Teacher Subject Specialism Training for Mathematics. As a part time teacher, I have availability to teach online during school hours in term time on Tuesdays and Thursdays and during the school holidays, as well as after school and weekends.

Miss Debbie G

Friendly, fun and enthusiastic tutor with 9 years of experience teaching Chemistry in the school voted the school of the decade in the North by the Sunday Times. I have taught all age ranges during my time teaching, including the Edexcel IGCSE double award and triple award specifications and the AQA A-Level specification. I pride myself in being able to meet the needs of all of my students, by being flexible in my methods of teaching, being organised and well prepared and I love creating helpful revision materials and fully explained worked answers to questions. I am also a huge advocate of mental health awareness and would ensure that tutoring sessions were undertaken in ways that promote good mental wellbeing, and would advise how independent revision outside of sessions should be conducted to protect students from burnout and overwhelm.
