I'm a Totnes-based educator specialising in well-being based educational experiences for ages 4-13. I run dinosaur discos and an education charity, Mindful Music. While training as a teacher with Teach First in 2013, I successfully supported children who needed additional social, emotional, SEN and academic support. I did this through whole class teaching, as well as via smaller groups and one-to-one sessions. This was part of my role as a full-time primary school teacher. I then worked for agencies, including The London Youth Conservatoire and The Golden Circle, while founding and developing Mindful Music. In my free time, I love to make music, develop creative projects and to explore.
I am a qualified and experienced Primary Teacher with 7 years of experience. I have taught across the Primary Curriculum, including EYFS, Key Stages 1 and 2. I offer support in maths, English, phonics and SATs preparation. I have experience working with children with SEN. I have been a year 1 teacher for the last few years but I’ve also taught year 6 and year 4.
I am a fully qualified primary teacher with 23 years experience of teaching across both KS1 and KS2. I have excellent knowledge and understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and National Testing in both Key Stages. I have a wealth of experience, working with children facing a wide range of SEN challenges and I fully believe in a child/individual-centred approach to learning.
My name is Amy and I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher (QTS) with a particular interest and vast experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage. I have strong personal skills which I believe are of key importance when working as a tutor; I am enthusiastic, hard-working, flexible, reliable, creative, caring and dedicated to my role and feel passionate about helping children achieve. With extensive experience working within Early Years settings, I have a strong knowledge of the foundations of how children learn. Learning should be exciting, engaging and fun to encourage children to work hard and progress their skills. Throughout my teaching career, I have also worked within Key Stage 1, helping children prepare for SATs examinations. In school, I regularly deliver interventions to help children in all areas of their learning and understand the importance of tailoring sessions to meet the child's academic needs and individual interests.
