Teaches Latin, Classical Civilisation and Ancient Greek from Primary and Prep through to GCSE, IGCSE and A level, across all major exam boards. Supports preparations for 13+, Common Entrance and School Entrance Examinations. A Level Latin Examiner for the past 8 years focusing on verse and prose literature. Has also marked the Entrance Exam for St Albans.

Mrs Sophia P

I have been Assistant Head Mistress and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead at Streatham & Clapham High School since 2016. A graduate of Durham University I completed my Classics PGCE at King’s College, London. I was Head of Classics at St Catherine’s School, Bramley for six years, during which I mentored several Classics trainee teachers. I continue to give lectures for the KCL PGCE course. I am a keen advocate of promoting classics in the wider community and served as the Chair of the Guildford Classical Association for several years. I am Deputy Director of the JSST Latin Summer School in which I have been involved with the Summer School since 2008.

Mrs Francoise W

-Qualified modern languages and Latin teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. Head of Latin and Modern Languages in a private school for 16 years. -Currently retired. -Now a private tutor of French and Latin and volunteer teacher of French for Latin American youngsters and adults. -Developed a French course to teach French online to adult beginners and a second one, more recently, to teach French online to primary school children. Successfully used it to teach several primary school children during lockdowns. Taught Common Entrance Latin to several Year 8 pupils in 2020 and 2021. All made excellent progress and were very pleased with their results. -SEN experience. -I am now teaching Latin and French mostly online to adults and children. I particularly like teaching French or Latin to complete beginners both adults of any age and children.

Mr Francis G

Qualified and experienced Language Teacher, with 30 years of experience of teaching in Independent Schools, now working full time as a tutor. Previously Head of Modern Foreign Languages and Deputy Head at a local school for many years. Teacher of English Language, English Literature, French, German and Latin from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, IGCSE and A level; teacher of Russian and Italian through to GCSE and IGCSE. Also teacher across the Primary Age range and provider of preparation for 11+, 13+ and Independent School Entrance and Scholarship Examinations, alongside with interview practice.
