Qualified primary teacher with over 20+ years of experience of working across both key stage 1 and 2. I have taught in primary schools both in the UK and abroad and am able to adapt my teaching style according to the student’s needs. Currently working as a supply teacher in local primary schools in South Gloucestershire. As a home tutor I first like to spend a little time with the student getting to know each other. I will then begin to identify the areas in which the child needs extra support , work out which approach works best for that individual child and then develop a plan of progress.I place strong emphasis on building the child’s confidence as I believe this is often the key to good progress. I am a qualified secondary school teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience, in Social Studies and SEN. During the last 20 years, I trained in SEN and my qualifications include a Diploma in SEN and a Post-graduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties. Also, I have taught ESL to adults in further education colleges. Whilst teaching in Asia for 6 years I taught primary school children with SEN. I am experienced teaching students with dyslexia in schools as well as in private homes (for the last 7 years.) For approximately 4 years I also taught KS3 English. Currently, I work privately teaching students and assessing students for access arrangements.
