Just a few of our Primary teachers in Mansfield

Ms Sara C

Having loved my job for all my career, I recently retired after 36 years of teaching. I have taught virtually the whole primary spectrum, from Year 1 to Year 6, working largely in Key Stage 1 in my latter years. I was the Special Educational Needs Coordinator in my school for at least 10 years, so I am very familiar with the needs of children with Special Needs. Throughout my career I worked extremely hard and put my heart and soul into my job. Each child is different, has particular needs and is stimulated by different approaches to teaching. If I am selected for a tutoring post, I will endeavour to understand your child and teach to his/ her needs. I will continue to teach enthusiastically, as I have done throughout my career.

I have completed my placements in Y2, Y4 and Y5, meaning I have experience of teaching a wide range of age groups. As well as this, during my studies I spent 3 months working as a teaching assistant in reception where I developed my understanding of and ability to teach early maths, writing, reading and phonics. I am currently working as a TA in Y1 and will be starting work as a Y5 class teacher in January. Outside of teaching, I have worked as a dance teacher at a performing arts school and also as a sports coach at a children's summer camp. I have a level 1 qualification in Makaton, am trained to deliver LEAP (speech and language support) sessions, and have experience working with children with SEND.
