After 20 years teaching in both the state and private sector, I have the experience and the motivation to help people enjoy and succeed in this subject. Patience and understanding are needed to ensure that students achieve their potential and I have an abundance of these attributes! I have experience in both Primary and Secondary education, teaching basic numeracy, SATS, 11+, Maths ,13+ Maths KS3 and GCSE Maths. In 2009 I completed the SPLD in Education and became a specialist in SEN teaching and this gave me an insight into how educational needs (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia etc.) affect a student's academic ability and the strategies used to overcome them. I am an Associate Member of Patoss ( Professional Association for the Teaching of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) I love learning myself and during lockdown I taught all my school's students using Microsoft Teams. Everybody should love learning!

I have almost 15 years experience as a teacher in Key Stage 2. I have spent the last 3 years at a Primary School in Banbury, tutoring children on a 1:1 basis in maths and literacy. During this time, I worked hard to boost children's self esteem and confidence, which in turn helped them to make accelerated progress. As a practitioner, I believe strongly in positive praise and building steps of progress to help children enjoy their learning and gain a sense of achievement.
