Mrs Stephanie J

I’m a recently retired headteacher, keeping my hand in by teaching science 2 days a week in local secondary schools. I came to reaching late having had a successful career in the Insurance industry and completed an OU science degree for ‘fun’. I left there and was a TA for 4 years supporting secondary age children with Autism, ADHD and visual impairment. My first teaching job was at a mainstream coastal school for 4 years, then at a secondary special provision for 6 years (3 as a headteacher- still teaching science). The school was for children who had previous exclusions and difficulty maintaining a place in school due to various and sometimes complex needs. My job was to create a bespoke placement where their needs were met, and they had a happy school life with a sense of achievement. As I still feel I have something g to give, I’d like to continue to help young people achieve their potential.
