I have 23 years’ experience teaching physics to a range of different pupils at QEHS Hexham and RGS Newcastle. At GCSE level, I have taught Edexcel iGCSE and AQA courses and at A level, AQA and OCR. I have also helped many students successfully prepare for Oxbridge entrance exams. I tailor my teaching to suit the individual student. By listening to the student, I establish how they think about concepts and identify areas that they need to develop. I have a strong knowledge of the commonly held misconceptions in physics and have various strategies to overcome these. Over the years I have developed my own understanding of physics and can now break down concepts to enable my students to understand and apply them. I use past exam papers to ensure students can deconstruct exam questions and are familiar with the style of response required. I tutor online, via Teams or Zoom.
