Just a few of our Maths teachers in Nottinghamshire

Mrs Barbara J

I have been a primary teacher for over 30 years, and am currently working in a support role in Y6 for two days each week, focusing on targeting the development of literacy and maths skills with identified small groups and individuals. During my career I have worked as a class teacher in year groups from Reception – Y3 and also with small groups and individuals from Y4 - Y6. I have good knowledge of the expectations of the curriculum in literacy in KS2, and am experienced in assessment to identify the gaps in learning in reading and writing which are affecting achievement. I also have considerable experience in planning and carrying out intervention programmes to boost progress in literacy, and have prepared children for SATs in KS2. I am a committed and enthusiastic teacher and believe that children make best progress when focused literacy work is based around their interests, using a variety of stimulating resources.
