Lectured at Bridgend College 1979 - 1982, Gower College 1982 - 1986 (new name) and Coleg Powys (1986 - 1995 (Head of Business and Management for all three Powys colleges of Newtown, Llandrindod Wells and Brecon). This last post was the most challenging including trebling the student intake, developing a range of courses with local industry such as Laura Ashley plc and creating the HND/HNC qualifications for rural students including Blended Learning. Member of WJEC Examinations Panel: Economics GCSE, until 1995. I left teaching in 1995 to establish my own business but continued to tutor local young people in GCSE Maths (WJEC), BTEC Business Studies and A Level English Literature. My children are now grown up, the business now is one that requires only an overseeing role from me and I have the time and passion to want to return to teaching in an online capacity. My interests are the works of Shakespeare (especially his sonnets), fitness (gym, running, pilates etc), golf, literature, art, sailing and travel.

Qualified secondary mathematics teacher with 2 years of experience teaching in a single sex school. Also employed as a 'more able and talented' coordinator for the school during my final year of teaching. Capable and confident to teach mathematics at KS2, 3 and 4 levels, including GCSE. Have tutored privately for GCSE maths students and GCSE physics students. Currently pursuing a Masters in biomedical engineering and interested in tutoring on a part time basis, fitting around my studies. My personal passion is STEM subjects, so it was a fantastic opportunity to promote STEM subjects to the students in my care. I have some experience of privately teaching physics and general science in preparation for GCSE exams, which I am confident to deliver based on my studies of engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate level. My undergraduate degree is in mechanical engineering and the postgraduate degree I'm currently pursuing is in biomedical engineering.
