I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher, a GCSE examiner and university tutor with twenty years’ experience in private tuition and teaching in schools, universities and colleges. Born and raised in Italy, I graduated in English and French Languages and Literature, before moving to the UK, where I obtained Qualified Teacher Status 15 years ago. I am currently teaching French and Italian part-time at the University of Warwick, Coventry University and a college for adult education. I am also providing personalised tutoring to adult and GCSE learners. I teach students how to communicate in the foreign language and help them to become independent learners and stay motivated in their studies. I adopt a very friendly student-centred approach, which focuses on students' needs, enhances their learning and encourages them to become more active. By using a vast array of resources and adapting the material to the learners ' purposes, I make lessons varied, effective and engaging.

After 20 years teaching in both the state and private sector, I have the experience to build confidence and help students succeed, with great success in both improving grades and aiming for the top grades. Patience and understanding are needed to ensure that students achieve their potential and I have an abundance of these attributes! I have experience in both Primary and Secondary education, teaching basic numeracy, SATS, 11+, Maths ,13+ Maths KS3 and GCSE Maths. In 2009 I completed the SPLD in Education and became a specialist in SEN teaching and this gave me an insight into how educational needs (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia etc.) affect a student's academic ability and the strategies used to overcome them. I am an Associate Member of Patoss ( Professional Association for the Teaching of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) I love learning myself and I have used the past three Lockdowns to fully enhance my online teaching. Everybody should love learning!
