Mrs Claire H

I am a qualified Primary teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience. I have taught throughout the entire Primary spectrum- Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This experience has allowed me to gain an excellent understanding of teaching & learning. I have a broad experience of working with children with complex needs having worked for a Local Authority’s SEND team for 3 years. I am able to plan activities that enable all pupils to access the curriculum at their own level and to become successful, independent learners. I currently work as a 1:1 tutor, planning and delivering individualised learning sessions. The students I work with have often previously suffered a negative experience of education and so I work hard to engage them in their learning and to provide bespoke sessions which enthuse and motivate them and support them to reach their full potential. I am dedicated to helping every pupil to grow in confidence, increase their self-esteem and to develop a genuine love of learning.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:

Miss Karen I

As a Private Tutor, I teach your child or you as a young adult, at the right level so that they can progress well. Often progress is halted due to missing blocks of learning and it is my job to find these and teach them in a way that your child finds engaging and fun. It might be learning lost due to COVID and lockdowns or it could be an area that they simply find challenging. It could be that they have been recently identified as being on the SEN register or with a specific plan known as an IEP or POP. Whatever the context, I’m confident that I can help, as a qualified teacher since 2009. I have been judged as Good in one OFSTED inspection and Outstanding in 2 others.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Primary, SEN, English, Maths, Homeschool, SATs
Qualifications:
SENCO Award, Edge Hill University (2013). BA (Hons) Education with QTS, St Martin’s College Lancaster (2009).
