Helping students develop their skills and build their confidence in learning languages is my focus, whether it be for pleasure, business or obtaining qualifications. My students find me approachable and supportive. As a reflective practitioner, meeting their needs is always the key element of their learning experience. I began teaching adults over 25 years ago, and then qualified to teach MFL in secondary schools. After several years, I began to tutor all ages on a self-employed basis, to private students and adult education classes. I also produce all my own teaching resources. On a personal note, I am married with 3 grown-up children. We have 2 Labradors, a beautiful Maine Coon kitten and a handful of chickens. I am a Puppy Raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind, which is a volunteer role.
I am a committed experienced English, Spanish, French and music teacher with a passion for education and arts. I am particularly proud of my work with disabled students, which represented a significant proportion of my time in my previous role. My other achievements include teaching music (further education and adults) and being a freelance translator. I believe that my attention to detail and teamwork would make me an excellent fit and the opportunity to work in this institution is one that excites and motivates me.
Currently a science teacher teaching ages 11-16, I am here to assist students in achieving their full potential. In 2020 I gained a PGCE in Secondary Biology with QTS and completed my NQT year in 2021. A passion for science captured in secondary school mixed with studying animals during college and university led me to teach science and to share my passion! My teaching style is fun and engaging whilst keeping a focus on recap, recall and practice. I have the majority of experience with AQA however we can work towards any exam board. I have experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A level science, including the separate sciences; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The lessons can be adapted to suit your individual needs and the topics we cover will be the topics that we identify need the most improvement, in order to get the best out of your education.
