Welcome, my name is Katherine Neale. I am a fully qualified teacher as well as a certified specialist teacher who can assess and report on specific learning difficulties. I enjoy working with learners and seeing them achieve their goals. I appreciate that each student is unique, so I always strive to ensure my tutoring reflects their individual needs, aims and learning style. I endeavour to spark the student’s interest in a subject. I often find that the best way is to relate this to each student by highlighting its relevance outside of an academic context. Once that eagerness is there, confidence I believe is the key to a successful academic learning; I am generous with praise and do all I can to ensure my students feel empowered. I have taught a range of pupils from 5 to 18 years. I have considerable experience in a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, behavioural issues and pupils with English as an additional language. I also have worked with pupils with gaps as well as deepen their learning.

Subjects: Primary, SEN, Maths, English, SATs, Homeschool

Home tutoring over a digital platform can be a great way to boost your child's confidence and ability whilst away from their usual classroom environment. I am offering tutoring online for primary school pupils or children of an older age who need a confidence boost for when they return to school. I use a digital learning environment to my advantage to make the sessions interactive and fun. I use Zoom as standard, but I am happy to adapt to other platforms that parents feel comfortable with. I can help children with home learning tasks they have been set or additional teaching to assist with any areas they would like additional support with. By building trust and confidence, I am able to guide children through more challenging work without the fear of failure. Over the years, I have built up a range of teaching strategies and resources to support children's learning that suits the individual. By taking the time to find out what the child's goals and motivations are, I can then tailor the lessons to suit their needs.
