I was employed by Portsmouth High School for four years as their International Pupil Officer, as well as teaching Fine Art to years 7 and 8 and Mandarin to years 6 and 7. In my teaching role, I also assisted GCSE and A-level students with their speaking, listening, reading and writing in Mandarin. Since leaving Portsmouth High School, I have been studying level 5 TEFL, which is now completed. Modules for this included classroom teaching, one to one tuition, and business English. Alongside this, I have been privately tutoring (both remotely and in person) a varied selection of students in Mandarin and Fine Art. I like to involve creativity when teaching Mandarin, I think it is very important to combine cultural background as it helps my students learn better.
