Mr Mark B

I have been teaching English in secondary schools in Devon and Gloucester since 2000, with 9 years' experience as a Head of English. These include comprehensive and grammar schools and most recently 7 years in a private school. I am experienced with GCSE, IGCSE and A Level, including English Language, English Literature and Media Studies. I have worked for OCR examining board as a coursework moderator and I currently teach Edexcel IGCSE English Language and English Literature, AQA A Level English Language and OCR A Level English Literature. I keep myself up to date with the specifications for all boards. A strength of mine is to learn the individual needs and interests of the student. Many students or their parents have said that I was able to turn something as loose and open as English into something precise, digestible and achievable. I would welcome the chance to learn about a new student's goals and aspirations, and design a bespoke package of teaching and mentoring to help them on their journey.
