Just a few of our teachers in Islington

Mr William H

Developing an understanding of our world, and the interactions within it, is crucial for future generations. The speed of change and challenges that face children today are ever increasing. The importance of geography in creating adaptive and critical thinking is therefore vital for the younger generation to be prepared. Being an avid adventurer, I have seen first hand the destruction of our environment, through human activity. Recently working as a Geography teacher in an opportunity area (Bradford) I have equally identified the huge lack of cultural capital and geographical lens in the students. I therefore hope that I can inspire and motivate children to the importance of understanding our interaction with our world and the ways they can develop transferable skills for the future. I am a young, sporty and outgoing individual that loves the creativity and excitement that children bring and inspire in myself. I hope that I can provide, not just education, but also laughter and energy in difficult times.

I’m an experienced, caring and reflective practitioner with a strong history of raising GCSE attainment in a short space of time. I’ve been teaching English Literature and Language in both state and private schools, over the last 12 years. I’ve also taught GCSE Media and A Level Literature, along with a few years of teaching KS2 English (along with a few other Humanities based subjects). I’ve also taught Dance and Drama at Key Stage 3, I’m a qualified journalist and I’ve been Key Stage 3 English Lead on three occasions in my career! I write for pleasure still, and of course actively read for pleasure! Currently I’m reading Bill Bryson’s ‘The Body’ as I love his journalistic style, having just finished ‘Notes from a Small Island’. I possess strong experience of teaching to most exam boards - WJEC, IGCSE (I’m an accredited moderator), AQA and some Edexcel (though not Literature).
