I went into teaching because I love literature and I love working with young people! I have worked in independent schools since 2005 and as a private tutor since 2013 and have taught all the major exam boards at GCSE, iGCSE and A level as well as 11+, 13+, ACT and SAT prep, and Literature at undergraduate level. I specialise in preparing students for Ripon Grammar School and for Common Entrance. Additionally, I have taught many home educated students at KS3, GCSE and A level, which is a particular passion of mine. I have examined for OCR, AQA and CIE and have also taught Drama and Theatre Studies A level. I also have many years of experience tutoring students re-taking GCSE English. I believe that study and revision skills are incredibly important and always teach them alongside academic subjects, have QTS and a Boarding Schools Association certificate in pastoral care, and complete the statutory Keeping Children Safe in Education training yearly.

I am a qualified primary school teacher who graduated with a PGCE in primary education in 2013. I have experience teaching in mainstream primary schools and I have spent the last two years working in a special educational needs school. I have experience working with high functioning autistic children. Prior to this, I was an assistant headteacher at a mainstream primary school. I have extensive knowledge of all areas of the primary curriculum. I have worked as a KS1 moderator for the local authority. I enjoy working with children and helping them be the best they can be.

I am a French native speaker and I have been living and working in England for the past 30 years. Most of my work involves teaching my native language and also writing, editing and recording material to learn French as well as being an examiner for all main UK qualifications. I have extensive experience as a teacher, having taught from beginner to advanced level, ranging from primary school-age children to adults wishing to learn French for fun or work purposes. I have over 25 years experience as a teacher/tutor, helping students prepare for GCSE and A-Level exams, improving their listening and speaking skills. I also work as a Lifelong Learning Tutor teaching adults at all levels. I prepare adult learners for the DELF examinations and also provide support to students at degree level such as the OU and teaching qualifications in languages. I enjoy tutoring and ensure my sessions are tailored to the needs of the learner. My priority is that all my students enjoy learning French and make regular progress.
