Miss Sarah F

Hi, I’m Sarah! I have been a primary school teacher for the past five years, after qualifying with a BA in Primary teaching with QTS. I passed my degree with First Class honours and I completed a specialism in Special Educational Needs. During my four-year degree, I gained experience teaching in Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y6. Since qualifying, I taught in an Academy in Surrey with a high number of pupils with English as an Additional Language. I taught Year 3 and Year 4 and progressed to being Head of Key Stage 2. Throughout this role, I experienced all year groups from Y3-6. I left this position for a move back up north to Chester. I currently work as a Year 5 class teacher in a National Teaching School and absolutely love it. I’m passionate about improving writing but am also a keen mathematics teacher. As somebody who struggled with Maths at school, I enjoy creating ways to encourage understanding and confidence within the subject.

Ms Tracey L

I'm an experienced secondary school Languages teacher (Spanish and French) and currently mark for GCSE so I'm well aware of the sort of responses examiners are looking for and know how to help my students to optimise their performance. I have friends and family in both Spain and South America, which ensures that I can make my lessons engaging and up to date with current trends. Previously Director of Communications Faculty (English and Languages), I now work part-time as a centrally employed tutor for the local council, providing specialised one to one online support so I'm well-equipped to deal with the various challenges inherent in online learning. I have experience in teaching both young people and adults and am competent to use TEFL and SEN techniques when appropriate but what I most enjoy is helping students to gain the confidence to find and use their own voice, so that they "own" the language rather than the language "owning" them.

English, Maths, Spanish, English Language, English Literature
BA (Hons), Birmingham University (1996). PGCE (Mod Langs), Manchester Metropolitan University (1997). Additional PGCE Maths, Keele University (2014).
