As a qualified and experienced Primary Teacher, my most recent role has been as a Nursery Teacher, then as a Y4 Teacher, both covering sickness absence during 2021. Prior to this, during the Pandemic, I was working as a Key Stage 1 and 2 teacher on rota and as a Year 3 teacher, then a Year 1 teacher, with a phased return class. I have also offered online tuition. In 2019 I worked as a Y6 SATs Booster Group Teacher at Larks Hill J&I School, Pontefract and achieved a 90% pass rate. Teaching across the Primary Curriculum, I offer preparation for SATs, Scholarship 11+ and School Entrance Exams as well as general primary tuition. Also in 2019, I successfully tutored a student to pass the Wakefield Girls High school exam. My coaching and psychology qualifications enable me to motivate and inspire learners by setting achievable short-term goals based on individual motivation while building confidence and resilience. I have the skills and knowledge to teach all Primary age groups.

Ms Rachel P

I am an experienced primary teacher and former deputy head with 27 years of successful teaching experience across the age range. I'm great at identifying gaps in children's learning and filling them, making sure they have the building blocks to move on, beginning with small steps to increase children's confidence. I tutor in person (within 3 miles) and online. If I'm tutoring online, I use Zoom for tutorials and an app called Seesaw for sharing work and resources and this works really well. I recently qualified as one of the UK`s first Chartered Teachers and I am up to date with the latest research about how children learn most effectively . I'm very happy to have a chat about your child's needs with no obligation to book a lesson.
