I was an assistant headteacher for two years, before being compelled to return to the classroom as Head of Humanities and Head of Department for History at a school closer to home. At my most recent school I was proud to deliver the best set of history GCSE results the school had ever seen in my second year as head of department. Once my department had established perennial success we began to focus on developing our more able provision, and in my final year the history department achieved the highest percentage of grades 7 to 9 across the school. With the birth of my daughter I have chosen to become a stay-at-home dad; tutoring will allow me to be with my child every day and still following my vocation.'
