Qualified and experienced Primary Teacher, currently teaching in Glasgow. Trained in Scotland- Strathclyde University. I teach across the Primary Curriculum, including EYFS, Key Stages 1 and 2. In Scotland, this is primary 1-7. I have experience of enhancing children's reading and writing skills as well as their numeracy. I have a BA in Childhood Studies which has played a big role in understanding child development and the importance of differing teaching strategies to meet the needs of all of my learners. I have recently gained a further level 2 Qualification focussing on supporting mental health in children and young people. I have also completed my SCEL teacher leadership course this year which has allowed me to further enhance my practice, focusing on an enquiry based project. This has resulted in me raising my classroom’s reading attainment level, as this was my focus.

Currently, Head of English at Craigowan Prep School in Perth, teaching English to Years 6 - 8 (P6 - S1). I cover the curriculum for excellence curriculum and the Common Entrance syllabus. Previously, I have taught in a number of Prep Schools in London, rural England and Edinburgh. I have taught across the primary age range, from Reception/Primary 1 all the way up to Year 8/S1 with a particular specialism in the teaching of English. I am currently on maternity leave and will not be returning to my role in September as I spend time raising my daughter. Therefore, I am looking for pupils with whom to teach either at home or virtually, either to supplement their schooling or to support home educating.

I have lived and worked overseas most of my life and have taught Computer Science in both high schools and universities. I am currently waiting to start as the head of Computer Science for Perse Suzhou and was previously the head of Computer Science for Bermuda High School and Markham College in Peru. I have also work as teacher in China, Indonesia, England and Japan and I have previously worked as processional software Engineer with international companies. I can teach in most programming languages, but Java and Python are the two I know best.
