Mrs Gillian B

A qualified and experienced teacher, currently working as a one to one intervention GCSE teacher at St Augustine Academy, following AQA exam board. I also tutor both English and History at A level and GCSE. I currently have a number of students taking A level English, exam board Edexcel. Current texts are Hamlet and Othello alongside poetry and a variety of literary genre. I also teach Edexcel and Eduquas exam boards for GCSE English both privately and in a school setting. I currently also teach History at both GCSE and A level covering mainly AQA and Edexcel exam boards. I have experience of teaching a number of topic areas including both Russian and German history, also the crusades, Tudors and American history among others. I am a very experienced Primary School Teacher with 20 years experience across KS1 and KS2. I have taught in many schools in the Thanet area. Having taught year 6 for many years, I have a great deal of experience in preparing children for the 11 plus and KS2 SATS. I am able to offer continuous tutoring, booster sessions, 11 plus preparation and preparation for SATS. In addition to English and Maths, I specialise in Science and History. I have also taught a ‘school readiness’ programme for 3-5 year olds focusing on all the skills they need to succeed in reception. I have a wide range of experience teaching children with SEN within school, during 1-1 extra curricular tuition and those who are homeschooled.
