Qualified, quality primary school teacher, with over 12 years teaching experience and a decade of tutoring experience. I was a year 1 teacher for 5 years and a KS1 specialist and have an ability to form good working relationships and rapport with young children. I particularly enjoy working with younger pupils because of their eagerness to learn and their enthusiasm. I have specialist knowledge of the English/Literacy curriculum and really enjoy teaching Mathematics. I am looking for a role that will enable me to work with Y1 or Y2 pupils needing help with their English and Maths work and in building confidence in their skills and learning. PGCE Primary (ages 3-11) Newcastle University (2003), BA (Honours) Swansea, University of Wales (1998, 2.1)
I am a Maths teacher at The Cherwell School and I teach KS3 and GCSE Maths. I have worked with various abilities and with pupils with different Special Educational Needs. I have tutored for the last five years with a 100% pass rate. I teach the AQA syllabus but have tutored pupils doing Edexcel and OCR.
My name is Tim and I’m a former headmaster based in Wiltshire. I have worked in primary and secondary schools since 1979. Posts have included Deputy Head of Bristol Grammar Lower School, and Head Teacher at schools in Cheltenham, St Albans and Devizes. I was also an ISI School Inspector. In 2015, I decided to return to classroom teaching, as a Year 5 teacher and Head of Maths, at a local school. Over the last ten years, I have privately tutored a number of children. As the demand for one-to-one learning has increased, I have taken the decision to become a full-time tutor. I have always been passionate about trying to help each child to achieve their best, whether this might be to understand fractions or gaining a Grammar School place. I believe learning should be fun and interesting, as well as challenging.
I currently enjoy teaching English Language and Literature GCSE and English Literature A-Level at a grammar school. I am acting second in department and have supported literacy and analysis in Key Stages 3 and 4. I love getting students engaged with the big ideas books have to offer and I equally have an excellent track record of training students for the exams. My interest lies in making the education system work for the student hence my recent acceptance onto an MSc in Education at Oxford University.
