Ms Fiona L

I am a well-qualified and experienced mathematics teacher who loves passing on the enjoyment and wonder that can be experienced in maths. I work/have worked in secondary schools, adult and further education and also home maths learning to higher level GCSE/OCR AS mainly for KS3 and KS4 age-groups. I find students can become frustrated and learning blocked if they can't make sense of their mathematics. Using strategies that develop the creative talents and thinking skills learners already possess, I aim to help them get back on track and develop confidence in their own powers. I have SEN experience which includes tutoring children who have been diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and anxiety.

Mr Mark W

I have been teaching Physics since 1995 and have been Head of Department since 2007 at one of the top schools in the country (in London). I have also been a personal tutor for several years, helping students to achieve the grades needed for their dream course or University. With all this experience I can certainly help students improve their confidence, knowledge and grades at GCSE, IGCSE, A-level or even IB. During my time teaching, I have also held the position of Teaching & Learning coordinator for the school and take an active role in educational research - such as making thinking visible and assertive discipline. My approach to tutoring is personable, light-hearted but very structured and I provide clear feedback to both students and parents. More recently, I have completed a diploma in SEND teaching to help me understand the difficulties students have with learning from a Cognitive and Social, Emotional and Behaviour perspective. I'm very easy to get on with and an incredibly hard worker.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:

Qualifications:
Diploma in SEND Teaching, Teaching & Learning courses at Kings College London (2021). PGCSE Nottingham Trent University (1995). BSc (Hons) Physics, Nottingham University (1993).
