Mrs Julie F

I am passionate about teaching A Level English. I am a qualified and very experienced teacher of English and English Literature, being the Teacher in charge of KS5 Literature for many years. I teach in a way that is tailored to individual need. I particularly enjoy engaging students with tricky Literature texts, especially Shakespeare. I am familiar with the Edexcel course and have previously taught the Romantic poets, 'Streetcar', 'Hamlet' and 'Wuthering Heights'. I have a proven track record of supporting students to achieve their full potential. Most recently, I supported a Y13 student to achieve the B grade that he needed for his chosen University course. His Mum said, "Thank you so much for your tuition and support during year 13. My son found the sessions useful, interesting and enjoyable and really valued your input."

Mrs Maureen H

After 30 years teaching in both the state and private sector, I have the experience to build confidence and help students achieve, with great success in both improving grades and aiming for the top grades. Patience and understanding are needed to ensure that students achieve their potential and I have an abundance of these attributes! I have experience in both Primary and Secondary education, teaching basic numeracy, SATS, KS3 and GCSE Maths. In 2009 I completed the SpLD in Education and became a specialist in SEN teaching and this gave me an insight into how educational needs (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia etc.) affect a student's academic ability and the strategies used to overcome them. I am an Associate Member of Patoss (Professional Association for the Teaching of Students with SpLD). Recently I have been employed by Edexcel as a teacher/tutor for the National Tutoring Programme. Since I have expanded my online teaching I have had a number of adult Functional Skills students, the most recent scoring 97%.
