Has helped to prepare lots of children for their 11+ exams and has an excellent understanding of what is involved in these exams. SEN experience. Whilst I love teaching, I enjoy the one to one nature of tutoring and feel this is often much more beneficial to children than a busy classroom environment. Mrs Jacqeline H

I am a qualified teacher with over 30 years experience, 8 as a tutor. I currently tutor from year 2 to year 9 in all subjects; Maths and English (both language and literature) to GCSE level and Functional skills in maths and English for adults and young people. I specialise in building confidence and helping a student reach their full potential, by using methods that suit the individual student. In addition, I aim to challenge more able students. I have extensive knowledge and experience of SPLD, specifically dyslexia and dyscalculia, ASD and students with anxiety or mental health conditions as well as school refusers. I also work with SEN students one-to-one and I have experience of teaching adults and young adults in both the UK and in Germany. I seek to find practical solutions to the issues these students face in their learning as well as mentoring them if required.

After I graduated from the University of Oxford, I spent six months volunteering in Cambodia, teaching English. I then went on to complete my PGCE with a Primary specialism, at the UEA. I have almost ten years teaching experience, in both state and private sectors, across all the Primary years. I am highly experienced in teaching Reading, Writing, Maths and Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning. I also offer tailored tuition for 7+, 10+ and 11+ entry examinations. I have a wide range of experience with entrance assessments. I am also highly experienced in teaching children with SEN, including tailored teaching for children with Autism and Dyslexia. Alongside my tutorials, I offer regular reviews with parents, free of charge. In addition, I email a lesson report after each tutorial. I have over 25 years’ experience, teaching in both secondary & primary schools. In recent years, I have been Head of Maths in 2 different special schools, teaching GCSE Maths to year 10s & 11s, and I am a Maths GCSE examiner. I have also tutored for the local authority, supporting & teaching students (aged 7 - 16) who were not in school due to medical reasons. I have been doing private Maths and French tuition (for pupils in KS2, KS3 & KS4) for over 10 years, and I have helped many particularly anxious students and those lacking confidence in Maths.
