Miss Mary P

Hello! I am currently a Year 2 class teacher and Deputy Head at a Northampton independent school. I am qualified to teach all subjects within KS1 and KS2. I am in the final year of study for an MA in special educational needs and inclusion with a specific focus on autism. I have taught children with autism and I recognise how their education can sometimes be affected by social and emotional challenges. I am also a parent to a 13 year old boy with autism so do understand from a parent point of view how challenging schooling can sometimes be. I have tutored maths and literacy skills for many years to children of all ages within KS1 and KS2. My ethos when tutoring is to make the learning fun for the child and a positive experience. This develops confidence and ultimately boosts a child’s self esteem which in turn promotes their academic progress. I look forward to discussing with you how best to support your child.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Primary, SEN, SATs
Qualifications:
BEd (Hons) University of North London. Currently studying MA Special Educational Needs and Inclusion (Autism), University of Northampton.
