I am passionate about teaching A Level English. I am a qualified and very experienced teacher of English and English Literature, being the Teacher in charge of KS5 Literature for many years. I teach in a way that is tailored to individual need. I particularly enjoy engaging students with tricky Literature texts, especially Shakespeare. I am familiar with the Edexcel course and have previously taught the Romantic poets, 'Streetcar', 'Hamlet' and 'Wuthering Heights'. Pepita is a Chartered Psychologist and Qualified Teacher and has worked at Head of Psychology at a Leading Independent Girls’ School (A Level Psychology results in 2019 were 57% A*, and 86% A-A*). Her predominate area of work outside of A Level Psychology tutoring is working with students using Performance Coaching to optimise academic performance by increasing resilience and reducing self-handicapping thinking and behaviours such as procrastination, performance anxiety, negative comparison and self-doubt. Pepita is an experienced teacher with many years’ experience of finding bespoke learning strategies, uniquely designed to suit each student’s needs, helping to raise confidence and exam performance.
