Ms Tessa T

I am an enthusiastic Maths teacher with over 25 years experience teaching Maths at A level, GCSE and Key Stage 3 (including SEN) at schools and colleges. Since the last school I worked at closed in 2018, I have worked successfully as a home-schooling tutor. Since March 2020, I have been teaching mostly online using zoom and I have the IT skills and equipment (webcam holder, graphic tablet etc) to ensure that my lessons are clear and varied. I believe I give well structured explanations; I always like to explain the reason behind each method instead of just presenting a list of rules. I believe that student confidence is the key to success. I am always patient and I think that my experience enables me to quickly pinpoint student difficulties. As well as clear explanations, I aim to give students the structure and study/revision techniques they need to achieve exam success. I appreciate that choosing a tutor is a difficult process and so I am happy to give a 40 minute online trial lesson free of charge.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
SEN, Maths
Qualifications:
PGCE Secondary School Mathematics Sussex University (1990). BSc (Hons) Mathematics Surrey University (1984).
