I am a dedicated Maths Tutor working with individuals & small groups, whether the aim is to boost their grade, build confidence, overcome or achieve a target. I plan lessons by establishing needs first then designing lesson plans to achieve the desired result. I adapt resources for each student, focusing on developing their confidence, understanding topics as well as establishing revision and exam strategies. I encourage independent learning, often mentoring students to encourage good working habits. After teaching full time for many years , since having my own children - I now teach part time as a class teacher at a local primary school, teaching across the school from Foundation, KS1 and KS2. I teach across the whole curriculum, covering all subjects. This year, I regularly teach Foundation, Year 3 and Year 6. I enjoy being resourceful and building a good rapport with children, to help them progress in the best possible way. I have seen from the school where I teach, the impact of lockdown upon children's learning, along with the impact of the current Covid restrictions upon normal classroom routines.

I am a qualified and experienced Primary Teacher, having taught for many years across the Independent and State School Sectors. My most recent role was at Leicester Grammar Junior School where I was Learning Support Teacher for 15 years. I taught all areas of the curriculum to children across KS1 and KS2, either 1:1 or in small groups, as well as whole class teaching. I offer tuition across all ages and Key Stages, and across all core subjects within the new Primary National Curriculum. I provide preparation for 11+ and Independent School Entrance Examinations, Scholarship Exams and KS1 and KS2 SATs. I have significant tutoring experience, especially in English and Maths, and all the children I have taught have made tangible progress. My SEN experience and TESOL qualification inform my teaching. I am a kind, patient tutor with a caring and nurturing attitude towards children, whether they need a little extra help or wish to consolidate and move forward with what they are learning at school.

I am a qualified and experienced Science teacher currently working as a home tutor. Previously I was Head of Biology at Oxford Tutorial College, Oxford and Head of Science at Akeley Wood School, Buckingham. I teach Biology and Chemistry through to GCSE and Biology at A level, across all major Exam Boards, AQA, OCR and Edexcel. I can support A level retakes and homeschooling and have also worked as a Year 13 tutor and can give help and advice with writing Personal Statements and preparing UCAS applications.
