Mr John P

Mrs Barbara J

I have been a primary teacher for over 30 years, and am currently working in a support role in Y6 for two days each week, focusing on progressing the development of literacy and maths skills with identified small groups and individuals. During my career I have worked as a class teacher in year groups from Reception – Y3 and with small groups and individuals from Y4 - Y6. I have excellent knowledge of teaching phonics for reading and spelling and of developing fluency and comprehension skills in reading throughout the primary age range. I am skilled in assessment and in identifying gaps in learning in literacy and maths, and have considerable experience in planning and carrying out intervention programmes to boost progress in the core subjects with children who have special needs, including dyslexia. I have also prepared children for SATs in KS1 and KS2.
