Just a few of our teachers in Bletchley

Mr Mark M

I have taught classical languages (Latin and Greek) and civilisation in a diverse range of schools, in both the independent and state sector. During this time I have taught Latin from Year 5-13 and Ancient Greek from Year 8-13, boys, girls and coed. I am equally delighted to teach adults, either looking to revive their learning or start from scratch. One adult I work with I have taken from beginner level in both Latin and Greek to Masters and beyond. Confident to teach beginners or more advanced students, I pride myself on communicating passion for classical languages and culture and building proficient linguists. Highly experienced in preparing children for exams - Common Entrance or Scholarship, GCSE or A Level language and literature, I see exam success as the natural and desired outcome from excellent teaching. In one school, for example, 80-85% of pupils achieved A*-B in Common Entrance. I feel proud to have converted generations of would-be scholars to lovers of the classical world.

Latin, School Entrance Exams, 13+, Classical Civilisation
QTS, Graduate Teacher Programme, Hertfordshire University (2006). BA (Hons) Classics, Oxford University (1992).
