Mr Toby H

Qualified and experienced History teacher, with over fifteen years teaching experience. 'I have been judged an outstanding teacher in the delivery of both GCSE and A-Level. In 2013 I gained advanced skills teacher (AST) status, and was certified a lead practitioner assessor a year later. I was an assistant headteacher for two years, before being compelled to return to the classroom as Head of Humanities and Head of Department for History at a school closer to home. At my most recent school I was proud to deliver the best set of history GCSE results the school had ever seen in my second year as head of department. Once my department had established perennial success we began to focus on developing our more able provision, and in my final year the history department achieved the highest percentage of grades 7 to 9 across the school. With the birth of my daughter I have chosen to become a stay-at-home dad; tutoring will allow me to be with my child every day and still following my vocation.'

Mrs Cristina R

I am native Spanish speaker and I qualified as a Spanish Language Teacher in September 1986 and began my professional career working for a school in Spain. During that years I became increasingly experienced dealing with students of all ages and levels. I was teaching there for eight years, in 1998 I decided to move in London and here I qualified as a Foreign Language Teacher and started teaching from 2000, working with kids, young and adults for corporations and individuals. Also, I have experienced with students with special needs, autistic Spectrum and dyslexia. I tailor my tuition to the needs of the student. I will tutor online, in the student’s home, on their place of work or any convenient place. I will vary my style depending on the ability and needs of the student. I aim to run my tuition in support of the progression of my students through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the student so desires.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Spanish
Qualifications:
Certificate in Teaching Spanish, Centro de Estudios Jaigar, Spain (2005). Teacher training: teaching Spanish to adults, International House, London (2005). Degree in Teaching, Universidad Complutense, Spain (1986).

Mr Joe S

I am an experienced Spanish teacher and Head of Department whose work is lauded within the MFL teaching community. I am well known for my warm and positive relationships I build with students and parents. I have a sound knowledge of cognitive science which means my methods and resources help students acquire vocabulary and grammar quicker. My lessons include lots of modelling, structured and guided practice and opportunities for guided and spontaneous talk. The vocabulary and grammar that I teach my students is ambitious and goes beyond the limits of the textbook. With me, your child will see big changes in their long term memory and will be producing language that goes way beyond their age expectations in school. I can also provide online resources and subscriptions to help boost your child's learning between sessions at no extra cost.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Spanish
Qualifications:
- PGCE Modern Languages. University of East London (2013) - BA Hons Language Studies with Spanish and French. Leeds Beckett University (2012)
