All of our private tutors in Ambleside are qualified and experienced teachers offering their skills as high-quality tutors. This means we cover every academic subject and year group - and that our tutors have the most up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and exam boards. Lessons can be taught face-to-face in your home or delivered online, at a time that works for you.
Many parents get frustrated by poor quality, unqualified tutors. That’s why all 18,000+ of our UK tutors are qualified schoolteachers – so you know they are trained to teach children, safe, and experienced at teaching the latest curriculum at a high-quality.
You don’t need to scroll through pages of irrelevant and often unavailable tutors with our service. Just fill in our simple form or have a quick phone call and, within 24 hours, we will send you a shortlist of available, suitable teachers in your area.
You can be safe in the knowledge that if you are unhappy with your first lesson (this is rare, but we understand that sometimes the fit isn’t quite right), we will not charge you for the lesson, and we will look to find you another high-quality teacher.
I am a qualified and experienced primary teacher and have worked as a tutor full time for the last three years. My position before this was as an Assistant Head in a primary school. I have a wealth of experience having taught children with a range of different needs and from various backgrounds. I have an up-to-date knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and both the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SATs. I also have experience of working with SEN children. My aim is to help children fulfil their potential by teaching them in a supportive, enthusiastic, fun and engaging way. I take great pride in the delivery of sessions and in children's work because this not only promotes a sense of achievement and satisfaction, but also plays a strategic part in children's learning. I work with children who attend school and also those who are being home-schooled. Lessons are tailored to each child's situation and needs. Over the last 18 months, I have successfully taught lessons online to children aged from 5 to 11 years old.
I’m a qualified teacher with extensive experience of both State and Independent sectors. I teach all core subjects across the National Curriculum (Scotland and English) Key Stages - EYFS, KS1 and KS2/3 and beyond. A Specialist Leader in Education, I’m up to date with the latest educational thinking with extensive knowledge of teaching reading, maths strategies and phonics. With many successful years experience preparing private students: adult readers using Word Wasp, SATS, entrance exams, 7+, 11+, I’m always thrilled to hear how well they are doing. I also work with those unable to access mainstream education for a variety of reasons - SEND/ anxiety/personal circumstances. I had a heart attack at 46, requiring me to withdraw from classroom teaching but instead overcome illness and become a tutor. As part of my health recovery, I taught myself to paint which led me to raise over £150,000 for charity. My story and teaching style hopefully inspires any person to never give up, find their talents and achieve.
