I am a qualified primary teacher with over a decade’s experience of teaching in schools and of providing one-to-one tuition. I work with pupils across the whole primary age range and am especially familiar with the Key Stage 2 curriculum. I have worked with pupils of all backgrounds and abilities. My tuition sessions are tailored to the specific needs of the pupil and developed in consultation with parent/guardian and, where required, with the child’s school. I design and deliver booster sessions to narrow their attainment gap in literacy and numeracy. In addition to teaching, I serve as a SATs marker and have an excellent understanding of primary assessment. My attitude is warm, friendly and supportive. I take a patient approach and pride myself on my excellent communication with pupils and parents alike.

I am a well qualified and experienced (eight years) Geography teacher that has taught in three outstanding schools in Bromsgrove, Stockport and Manchester at KS3-KS5. I am a current Head of Geography (3 years experience) as well as Senior Head of House (one step below senior leadership) which highlights my competence as a teacher. I have also been a mentor to newly qualified teachers (NQTs) for the past 5 years which, again, shows my teaching ability. Outside of school, I work in the Summer as an examiner for AQA meaning that I have a good understanding of exam technique which I use to get the best out of my students. I am very passionate about both my subject and seeing my students achieve their potential. As such, I fully engage with all of the latest educational research in order to deliver high quality teaching to all of my students. Retrieval practice, spaced learning and deliberate practice of the core knowledge and exam technique are the methods I use to maximise the progress of my students.
