Mrs Katy B

I have been a Primary School teacher for 10 years and am passionate about teaching and engaging children in their learning. Over the years, I have taken great joy in privately tutoring children, teenagers and adults in Maths and English and celebrating their successes with them. As a class teacher, I have taught all Year groups from Year 1 to Year 6, with particular experience in Year 2 and Year 6 and have prepared children for the SATs assessments that take place then. I have also taught Phonics for 5 years in KS1. I have considerable experience supporting children with SEND, working closely with parents and professionals to overcome obstacles to learning. As Maths Leader in my school, I supported and developed the teaching and learning of Maths across the Key Stages. I also have an English degree and really enjoy teaching all aspects of reading, writing and grammar up to and above KS2 level. I tutor online via Zoom.

I am confident in my teaching capabilities and can tweak as and when needed in the lessons due to my expertise and self build up resources and lesson plans over the years. Also been an examiner for Edexcel this year, marking GCSE papers at an expert level.
