A graduate of Durham University I completed my Classics PGCE at King’s College, London. I was Head of Classics at St Catherine’s School, Bramley for six years, during which I mentored several Classics trainee teachers. I continue to give lectures for the KCL PGCE course. I am a keen advocate of promoting classics in the wider community and served as the Chair of the Guildford Classical Association for several years. I am Deputy Director of the JSST Latin Summer School in which I have been involved with the Summer School since 2008.

Qualified and experienced Latin and Classics teacher, with over thirty years experience as Head of Classics at a leading Grammar School in Kent teaching Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation from Prep school and Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, IGCSE and A level. I have vast experience in preparing students for Oxbridge. I can also support preparation for Scholarship and Common Entrance. I have a strong interest in Ancient Epic, Art and Architecture and Greek Tragedy. I have experienced five OFSTED inspections and on all occasions was judged an 'outstanding teacher'. I have also also trained a good number of Classics PGCE students all of whom have gone on to be HoDs at leading schools. Recently I have also started teaching adults. I am very sympathetic and understand how challenging this subject can be. All my lessons will be catered for individual needs and supported with notes.
