I qualified in 1984 with my PGCE from Cambridge University and since then I have taught in a variety of schools in both the private and state sector in London & the South East where I taught at The Judd School in Tonbridge teaching English GCSE and Latin A level. My most recent school post was teaching GCSE English AQA Board in Sussex. I have been tutoring for the last 20 years for the Kent 11 Plus examination including my own children, who all gained places at Kent Grammar schools, and also tutoring English Literature & Language at GCSE and A Level. I have recently moved from Kent to Cornwall but I am still in touch with my students and it is wonderful to see them progressing in their lives. I can supply email addresses of my clients in Sussex / Kent whose children I taught English Literature and Language to on a one to one basis. My own children have dyslexia and ADHD and I have helped them in their studies to secure places at Manchester and Bristol University.

Previously distance learning teacher of Latin, Classical Civilisation (both to A-level) and head of faculty at Nelson Thornes Distance Learning (now t/a Tute Education). Prior to that role, I taught in preparatory schools in London. I often attend the summer school of the Association for Latin Teaching (ARLT) and I review new publications for the Journal of Classics Teaching.

-Qualified modern languages and Latin teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. Head of Latin and Modern Languages in a private school for 16 years. -Currently retired. -Now a private tutor of French and Latin and volunteer teacher of French for Latin American youngsters and adults. -Developed a French course to teach French online to adult beginners and a second one, more recently, to teach French online to primary school children. Successfully used it to teach several primary school children during lockdowns. Taught Common Entrance Latin to several Year 8 pupils in 2020 and 2021. All made excellent progress and were very pleased with their results. -SEN experience. -I am now teaching Latin and French mostly online to adults and children. I particularly like teaching French or Latin to complete beginners both adults of any age and children.
