I am a degree level trained teacher of English (ESOL), Russian, Italian, and Spanish languages and a member of Chartered Institute of Linguists. I offer language tuition to adults, children and businesses, have a passion for teaching foreign languages and happy to work with all kind of students. I can help with preparation for school examinations as well as helping adults, including seniors, achieve their goal to speak a new language. I qualified as a teacher of Spanish, English and Italian in 2000 and my mother tongue is Russian. I have spent a number of years learning Italian including 3 years living and working in Tuscany, so have a special passion for Italy and the Italian language.
I have been Head of Spanish in three highly successful departments at Secondary schools for over twenty years. In my current school I have also been Head of Italian for the last ten years. I specialise in helping students who find languages difficult or stressful . For GCSE I have a framework that I have developed that enables students to aim for the highest grades - no matter how difficult or stressful they have found language study in the past. At A level I specialise in literature teaching. I have significant experience as a GCSE examiner for the writing paper and as a Literature examiner for A level. As such I know the techniques the students need to ensure they are able to access the top marks. All my lessons include a personalised document which I update during the class so that over the course of our classes the student has their very own text book which is totally aligned to their individual needs
