Just a few of our History teachers in Staffordshire

Miss Georgia D

I am currently a teacher of History and Humanities (including PSHE, RS and Geography) across KS3 and KS4. I have qualifications in a range of essay-based subjects, including A-Level Sociology and Psychology. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated ECT who, from taking part in the Teach First programme, has the aptitude to balance time well. My specialism is in modern history, especially the Holocaust. I am currently undertaking a MA module with UCL which focuses on the Holocaust in the curriculum, so I am well-versed in academic rigour which shapes my practice. At GCSE, I teach the AQA specification: Germany 1890-1945, The inter-war years 1918-1939, Health and the People 1000-present day and Norman England 1066-1100. Even though I teach AQA I am familiar with other exam boards and I will be able to adapt content and tutoring to suit the needs of what is needed of me.

Mr Thomas K

I am an enthusiastic and able History tutor with proven results. My specialisms are History at GCSE and A Level with AQA/OCR and Edexcel exam boards respectively. My outlook is simple. I equip students with the exam technique required for success in a way that is only possible in one-to-one tuition. The vast majority of students have the subject knowledge required for success but struggle to apply that knowledge in exams. This is where I come in. I am not the cheapest History tutor in the area but I believe I represent excellent value for money given the fact that I am a Head of Dept and examiner with a proven track record in tuition. In the past 5 years my tuition results are as follows: A-Level: 88% A*-A, 100% A*-C & 100% making above/expected progress. GCSE: 81% A*-A (9-7), 100% A*-C & 100% making above/expected progress. 11+: all students have got in to their chosen grammar school.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
History
Qualifications:
QTS General Teaching Council (GTC) Distinction (2012). BA (Hons) History, The University of Birmingham (2008).
