I currently teach both History and Religious Studies to GCSE level. I am passionate about helping young people develop a thirst for learning in both History and RE, and achieve their potential. I am a qualified Teacher of English Language and Literature to Advanced Level and a graduate of Bristol University’s Honours degree in “Religion with Literature”. My degree has allowed me to also offer Humanities and Philosophy and Ethics courses to Advanced level. I am an ex BBC employee trained in Sound and Video production and have used this in the teaching of Media Studies. I have QTS from 1990 and a current DBS on the update service. I have taught since 1990. In addition to working in mainstream comprehensive, I have worked with Adult Learners as well as running a PRU and an in-school Inclusion unit which has had demonstrable success in school progress levels over time. I am a firm candidate for this position with a clear vision as to how it would develop in the school community. I am sure of this with reference to the wide experience I have developed to date particularly in enthusing and motivating students through organisation, reliability, and consistency.
