My name is Sandra, I am German-born and I have been a language teacher for 20 years now. My original degree was as an English and Italian as foreign languages teacher and I have as well obtained a certificate to teach German as a foreign language. I have since been teaching German in highly academic London schools and have experience in teaching groups as well as individuals from beginners to near-native fluency in all aspects of the language, which means year 7 to A-Level and Pre U. I have served in all roles in my department, from language assistant to Head of Department. I have been an examiner for Cambridge and AQA and a teacher trainer and consultant for Cambridge. My main examining experience is for IGCSE level for the Cambridge board. I have also just successfully prepared my son for entrance exam to highly competitive academic schools; I can offer preparation as well as interview practice for 11+ entry and younger.

I have recently taken early retirement after 30 years of teaching French and German in local secondary schools. Since retiring from classroom teaching, I have been focusing on delivering private tuition, initially face to face but more recently, via Zoom. My clients include students from a whole range of schools, including local, top grammar schools as well as comprehensive schools. I am currently delivering French and German GCSE and IGCSE. I also have some younger students. I have also taught Italian GCSE. Furthermore, I have been teaching a beginner's course of French and German to adults.
