Developing an understanding of our world, and the interactions within it, is crucial for future generations. The speed of change and challenges that face children today are ever increasing. The importance of geography in creating adaptive and critical thinking is therefore vital for the younger generation to be prepared. Being an avid adventurer, I have seen first hand the destruction of our environment, through human activity. Recently working as a Geography teacher in an opportunity area (Bradford) I have equally identified the huge lack of cultural capital and geographical lens in the students. I therefore hope that I can inspire and motivate children to the importance of understanding our interaction with our world and the ways they can develop transferable skills for the future. I am a young, sporty and outgoing individual that loves the creativity and excitement that children bring and inspire in myself. I hope that I can provide, not just education, but also laughter and energy in difficult times.
