You can be safe in the knowledge that if you are unhappy with your first lesson (this is rare, but we understand that sometimes the fit isn’t quite right), we will not charge you for the lesson and we will find you another high-quality teacher.
I studied English at University to Masters Level and worked for several years in Preparatory schools both as Deputy Head and preparing children for the 11+ in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning for both State Grammar and Independent Senior Schools. This has involved whole class teaching of the concepts and skills required and one to one modelling of exam answers and practice papers. I now combine my love of writing with my fascination with the world as the Head of Geography in an independent school. I am used to working with pupils at different ability levels and have a strong track record with exam results in English and Geography using various tools, particularly exam answer modelling, to help students achieve the best possible outcomes. My English helps me to support students with the quality of writing overall and specifically writing in Geography.

Education professional with a background in Primary School teaching- eight years worth of experience working in Devon and Greater Manchester working across KS2 primarily- working as a classroom teacher, French specialist teacher, PPA teacher and Art specialist teacher. Moreover, I also supported groups of children with their 11+ examinations for entry to grammar school. I am a Fine Art, French and English Language specialist having both tutored these subjects to both children and adults. I have knowledge of the 11+ exams and have current active experience of tutoring English and Maths. I believe in a question led approach to tutoring where the student takes on an active role in their learning. Being a visual and kin-aesthetic ( learn by doing) learner myself, I believe that promoting subjects using a variety of methods is immersive and engaging. I am a firm believer that it doesn't matter how quickly or slowly a person makes progress as long as they are not encouraged to stop!
