I am a qualified teacher at a state-funded Academy in Gloucestershire. I have 10 years of teaching experience having had a previous career in industry. I teach Geography to all secondary age groups (KS3, GCSE and A’Level) and have taught both the Human and Physical Geography elements at A-Level. I currently teach the AQA courses at both levels. I also teach GCSE Business Studies (Edexcel). I have pastoral experience as a Head of Year and have particular skills in building rapport with students to increase engagement across the full range of abilities. My school has a wide range of SEN students so I am used to differentiating for a wide range of student’s individual needs. I am married and have two children aged 16 (boy) and 18 (girl) so I have an appreciation of the joys and challenges of parenting and a good sense of humour!

An experienced full-time tutor since 2011 with six years teaching experience in the secondary private and state sector in London and Wiltshire, I have been described as a bit of a polymath. I tutor a wide range of subjects, though my specialisms include English and history at all levels and maths up to and including GCSE. I excel at shaping and creating the evidence of quality learning, sparking creativity, and helping students to see the logical steps and links between one concept and another. With this comes confidence, curiosity, and even enjoyment in subjects previously found daunting and difficult. I have also taught EFL overseas, prepped students for entrance exams, was an examiner for Edexcel for many years, and more recently engaged in editing university applications and dissertations. I've worked with students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, including SEN, primary, secondary and adult, and I genuinely love what I do.
