Mr Trevor S

Qualified and experienced secondary teacher of maths, geography and music, with experience also in teaching GCSE history and RE. With 25 years experience teaching, subject leadership and senior leadership with responsibilities for sixth form and teaching and learning. I currently teach exclusively A level Geography at a local College using the WJEC exam board. I have worked successfully tutoring students 1:1 maths and geography, I also teach the flute and music theory. Whilst I also work with students to gain functional skills in maths and English. With a good understanding of exam and assessment requirements getting those grades is a combination of tutoring subject knowledge and exam technique. For A level students I can also help with the NEA. I am a well-qualified, enthusiastic and supportive Geography teacher with ten years’ experience teaching across all three key stages. I am currently teaching A Level Geography (Edexcel specification) at Pendleton Sixth Form College but I also have extensive experience of the AQA GCSE and A Level specification. I have been an AQA examiner for the past four years and therefore have a very good understanding of what is required to reach the highest grades.

Mr Ross H

After graduating from St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and with a PGCE from Leicester, I enjoyed 40 years at the chalkface, half of them as Headmaster. I have taught Geography, Maths and Economics; and in UK, Switzerland, Russia, China and Azerbaijan. Most of my recent teaching has been KS3 and (I)GCSE Maths, with excellent results, and usually to mixed ability, mixed background and mixed language learners. Since retirement, I have been training teachers abroad, marking O Level and PGCE essays, and doing volunteer work teaching E2L. I am currently tutoring KS3/GCSE Maths to three students. I speak French and rather less Russian and Indonesian. I love travel, cycling, and writing.
