Member since 2017 Mr Nicholas R

I am currently tutoring in Latin at all levels from Beginners through to Common Entrance, GCSE and A Level. I was an Assistant Examiner in Latin language with the OCR Examination Board for five years, and was recently appointed as Latin expert and teacher at Oxford Education Online. I have taught a number of adult learners of Latin over the years, one of whom, a retired primary school headteacher, went on to obtain a grade 9 in the 2019 GCSE Latin examinations. I am currently tutoring another retired teacher who wanted to take up Latin again after many years. She is not interested in obtaining a qualification, but is simply studying Latin for the pleasure it gives her. We have covered all the grammar she needs to know to read and understand Latin, and we are currently reading a wide range of Latin literature from the classics to the Vulgate Bible. I would be very pleased to help you discover the pleasure and satisfaction a knowledge of this this most interesting of languages can bring you.

Subjects: French, Spanish, German, Latin, School Entrance Exams, 13+, Portuguese
